Dr. R.K. Walia, Born on Nov. 26, 1956, Dr. Raman Kumar Walia passed his B.Sc. and M.Sc. (Hons) from Panjab University, Chandigarh. He obtained his Ph.D. degree from IARI, New Delhi. Since 1980, he has worked as various capacities in the Department of Nematology, CCS Haryana Agricultural University and is currently holding the post of Professor of Nematology. Dr. Walia has contributed significantly in the specialized area of biological control of plant parasitic nematodes, especially the bacterial parasite, Pasteuria penetrans, for which he has received advanced training at the University of Florida, USA. He has been Principal Investigator of several research projects funded by ICAR. He has also contributed immensely towards the development of teaching in Nematology. Besides, editing three books, recently he has authored a Text Book on Introductory Plant Nematology - Published by ICAR.
